Current Status:
Norman Taylor is a tax partner with Kingston Ross Pasnak LLP, Chartered Accountants and practices exclusively in the taxation area. He focuses on estate and business planning, corporate reorganizations, working with clients on business purchases and sales, trust and estate planning, compliance and reviewing corporate and personal income tax issues.

Experience:


Norman has been practicing with Kingston Ross Pasnak LLP for the past 11 years. Norman has presented on various tax issues to the Entrepreneurial CA Club of Edmonton, guest lectured at Grant MacEwan University, clients and staff.



Selected Tax Experience:


  • Tax planning for owners of corporations including planning and implementing estate freezes, family trusts, creditor protection and corporate reorganizations to transfer growth to future generations.
  • Tax planning on sales and acquisitions of corporations and property, including strategies to increase the wealth of the family through tax deferral.
  • Restructure corporate groups to maximize small business deductions.
  • Post-mortem tax planning to minimize taxes for the estate and future tax of the beneficiaries, including corporate reorganizations and wind-up of corporate entities.
  • Advising trustees of inter-vivos trust upon moving to Canada and establishing trusts in Alberta to take advantage of the low Alberta tax rates.
  • Advising individuals and corporations on the advantages of donations and charitable foundations for tax purposes and the betterment of society. Advising trustees of trusts on Canada's new foreign investment entity rules.
  • Preparation in review and supervision of others for compliance fillings for testamentary and inter-vivos, trusts including mutual fund trusts and health and welfare trusts.
  • Representation of taxpayers to Canada Revenue Agency during audits and appeals including the preparation of Notices of Objection.
